***Chickens***
I decided I wanted chickens about 2 years ago. Well, it just never happened until one day I found the "perfect" setup on craigslist. Lets backup just a bit so I can give you some background. Our oldest son and his wife were moving and we were headed to Colorado Springs to help them at 3pm. At about 2:40pm I found this listing on craigslist and sent an e-mail telling her I was interested in her chickens. She e-mailed me back in about 5min, which usually doesn't happen on craigslist. I saw this as a "sign" I was suppose to have these chickens. On our way to Colorado Springs with 7 kids we went by to check out the chickens and bought them. I was not set up to bring chickens home yet so I was in panic mode. All weekend I planned on how I was going to build a run for them. We returned home and early Monday morning I went to Home Depot and bought lumber and chicken wire. As you will see in the pictures I DID IT! We now have CHICKENS!

Which came first the Chicken or the egg?

The egg on the left is from my chicken. The egg on the right is from Walmart. Which egg would you like to be eating?

Family Home Evening

We decided to go to the church farm and pick corn for FHE. We have never done this before and we all had a great time. We also have corn coming out of OUR ears.

We just arrived at the corn fields and Mom is giving everyone instructions. Notice nobody is looking my way.

Kelsie trying to get back to the car without getting cut by the corn stalks. They are VERY sharp.

Kelsie is back with her first load of corn to go in the truck. She was working very hard.

Ashley showing us how much fun she is having. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL? Even in a corn field.

Look at that ear of corn boys. Way to go. I sure am glad you came to help us.

Kimberly had such a great time just smiling and meeting new friends.
Bryce is so proud of his ear of corn.

Well, EVERYONE keeps telling me I need to update our blog so...where do I begin. We went camping over labor day weekend and had an amazing time. I was more concerned than most about bears. (There was food being left everywhere) I am happy to report...NO BEARS...that is until we came home. Scott and I have spent the last half hour watching a bear eat berries just out our back door. I am also happy to report that he went away without incident.
